Winterwool

The winter clothing has been unpacked... 

The thick woolen socks, my favorite mittens and a bonnet.

I like the way they are knitted!

Underneath a very old man's shirt wich i use for sleeping in. The cotton is very soft and comfortable from a 1000 washes. 

I already look forward to go to bed...

Early in the morning

This view looked like a painting to me.
The sheep are awake already, wondering in the morning fog. They look so peaceful!
The one in the middle, he saw me! Just after the picture is taken he ran towards the fence for some goodies.

Sausage dog and lop rabbit

I've been busy around the house, preparing for winter.
I hope these animals will help keeping cold drafts out!

Bird migration

Our days shorten and birds are preparing their journeys to the south.
These birdpieces go back into time. I situe them all in the late thirties.
A tissue, a brooch and the top part of pyjamas.

Two elphants

An elephant mask and a drying dress.
And a little bird on top of its cage.

For a girl and for a boy of four

I made these old fashioned shirts a while ago. A girl and a boy version.

There is a special holder in the pocket of the boy for putting in his favourite colour of pencil. He’s always ready to draw.

But it wasn’t a small boy who was dotting the girl shirt. It’s a beautiful old cotton tissue.

Green apples

The last of the green apples, harvest time is over.
Now the ground is covered with walnuts.
Hmm, a great combination for making cakes!

Letters in aeroplanes

Extra light writing paper for sending letters far away. And it still took ages to arrive!
But if you knew something was on it's way, there was a long time looking forward to the envelope and lots of walking to the mailbox for a lovely letter to come. Such an excitement day after day.

Blankets for dippy eggs

A cat wich just caught a mouse.

Red riding hood on her way to granny, carrying flowers and a basket.

And a big white swan.

September, the first day of school

The holidays are over. For a lot of children this is a very exciting day. 

So much energy on the streets this morning!

Even i got infected with excitement.

Soon the apples will fall

This dress makes me think of springtime, blossoms and apple trees.

I guess we all remember 'Cinderella' and 'Puss in boots' from our childhood. But the fable of 'The ant and the grasshopper' might have slipped away.

Mothersday

All over the world people celebrate mothersday on different days. One of the motherdays we celebrate today in belgium. Although, some people celebrate it in may too. Much confusion, but i found a very beautiful postcard for the occasion.

An old lady friend of mine told me that among women it was known to hide secrets and treasures in their sewing boxes.

It was a place wich was of no interest to their husbands.
